EA888 Gen 3 Cam Bridge Reseal Kit w/ Upper Timing Cover
This kit includes the hardware, seals, sealant, and replacement upper timing cover required to properly reseal the cam bridge on EA888 Gen 3 2.0T engines.
Note: EA888 Gen 3 engines do not use a traditional valve cover gasket. Oil leaks commonly attributed to the valve cover are typically caused by failure of the cam bridge sealing surface.
On EA888 engines the cam bridge also functions as the camshaft bearing carrier and bolts directly to the cylinder head. The sealing surface between the cylinder head and cam bridge uses anaerobic flange sealant instead of a conventional gasket. Over time this sealant can degrade, allowing engine oil to leak from the cam bridge area.
Repairing this leak requires removal of the cam bridge and upper timing cover. During this service several seals and one-time-use fasteners must be replaced. This kit includes the required hardware along with a new upper timing cover and tensioner inspection plug to complete the repair.
