I highly recommend this upgrade. I have both a MK7 GTI and MK7 Golf R and while the handling and mid-top end of the R was great, I'd felt that the low-end on the R a little lacking - maybe due to the extra weight and friction of the 4-Motion, or a bit of turbo lag. The Unitronic Stage-1 Upgrade makes up for all of that and way more. I highly recommend watching the ShopDAP video on YouTube - DO take his advice and connect a battery charger while doing ECU/TCU work (standard shop procedure). Be aware that the programming takes a while - between 5 and 15 minutes; be patient.
