The upper timing cover on Gen 3 VW and Audi engines are known to leak oil.  This cover has replaceable gaskets.  Due to the cost of replacing the individual components, and the fact that the composite cover can crack or warp over time, makes cover replacement the best option.

This cover includes the Upper Timing Cover Gasket, the cam magnet gasket, and the the 6 bolts (which all have individual seals).  

Replace the Uppering timing cover on your 1.8t or 2.0t engine to address your oil leak!
