The cam chain adjuster on the VW and Audi 1.8T in mounted at the back of the cylinder head.  On Transverse 1.8T's (GTI, Jetta, Beetle, TT) on the drivers side of the cylinder head and on Longitudinal 1.8T's (Passat, A4) at the back of the engine compartment on the cylinder head.  This may often cause leaks in these areas.  Also please note that the gaskets should never be reused when installing a new cam shaft chain adjuster.  Using OEM parts will help ensure that this gasket will not leak in the future.  Be sure to clean the area thoroughly before installing a new gasket.
