The Right Tie rod is the component that connects your steering rack to the right front wheel of your VW or Audi. The Right Tie Rod end is located at the end of the right side tie rod and bolts to the steering knuck of the vehicle. This part has a joint on it that may become worn or damaged over time. You should inspect your tie rod ends for cracked boots or play in the joint.
The easiest way to inspect for play is to jack the vehicle up, and apply a rocking motion back and forth to your tire in the directions it would turn. If you have play you likely have an issue with your tie rod. Next you will need to determine if you have inner or outer play. You should perform the same rocking motion test and look at both the inner and outer joints to see which one has the movement.
