The high pressure fuel pump on 2.0T FSI was not originally designed to be removed constantly to check the wear of the cam follower. For this reason the threads that the bolts that hold on that pump on were also not intended to hold up to regular tightening of these bolts. There have been horror stories of the threads of this pump tearing out while people were driving down the road, causing severe damage to their fuel pump and cam chain cover. This is an extremely costly repair, which is why we are now offering this stud conversion kit.
When installing these studs you might consider installing thread locker (Blue) on the engine side to ensure the studs do not come out upon future removal of the mounting nuts.
