The IS20 Turbo is found on 2.0t MQB motors. This is most commonly mounted in the MK7 GTI model. The MQB engines have an integrated exhaust manifold in the cylinder head of the vehicle. For this reason the IS20 turbo bolts directly to the head via a 4 bolt flange, and does not require an exhaust manifold.
The IS20 turbo is also used as an upgrade for many 1.8t MQB engines. These models come from the factory with a smaller IS12 turbo. When installing and IS20 turbo you will need proper tuning to take advantage of the larger sized turbo. - Unitronic IS20 1.8t Software
